Deep in the jungle, a visit of Kbal Spean, known as the river of the Thousand Lingas, is highly recommended. The rocks of the river have been carved (11th-13th Century), which gives it a magical touch. Drive to Kbal Spean in 1h15 on a good unpaved road and climb-up to this extraordinary site of the Thousand Lingas, before reaching Siem Reap in the early afternoon. (not recommended during dry season as there is no water in the river).
